How to fund creative, explorative projects - like my electronic/acoustic percussion project?

-Entertainment route: Play in club/concert settings/Studio work/Albums -- work towards career gigs with network of support people...
ie. Erykah Badou, Roots, Rich Malloy, Nate Campany, Mark Lomax

And/Or -- BOTH!!

-Arts/Business/Education Organizations: Grants for Projects/Collaborations - network with arts org's - opens doors for opportunities.

In Columbus, there the many organizations that support the arts - collaborations with other disciplines outside of music and/or projects that benefit the community at large.

Individual or 501 c3 not-for-profit arts organizations:
ie. Kid Pan Alley, Inlet Dance

Bottom line... NETWORK IN WIDE CIRCLES...NETWORK
Biggest Bottom Line... Bring God's Kingdom in to every area of society!

Misconception #1:
If I reach a certain skill level on the drums/book certain level of gigs/play with certain people/make certain amt. of $ - people will like me... Love others unconditionally AND Rest in/confidence only in Jesus and that I am his son.

Misconception #2:
If I reach a certain skill level, I will be done/make it... Creativity is a lifelong pursuit. Just ask Max Roach.

Misconception 3:
Only when I reach a certain (perfect) skill level can I book gigs, be creative, play with others...Begin all these today and everyday. Make Creative MUSIC w/ OTHERS.

With all this promotion/business of CAJ, I can't lose sight of music...exploring new music and styles/ new relationships/...
And applying the money, resources I get to fund other projects...like hip-hop/funk group...gear/recording project

Also... Put 1st things 1st/Pay yourself 1st. - Keep focusing on personal drum/music development. Setting up a booking agency right now is "good" not GREAT. Keep making music.
